Lot’s of rain this week, coulees running again, more water on the way.

I fully expect the lake to break out of Toulna Coulee before any of this diplomatic/bureaucratic BS is accomplished. The wheels of progress grind far too slowly and the lake is gonna do what it’s gonna do. As somebody stated in an earlier article, nobody knows what the breakout level really is. I have also been told that there are cattails growing on the sand plug, which indicates to me that the soil is thoroughly soaked and probably not very stable, should the water level rise only a little more. If I lived along the Sheyenne, I would have a boat ready in case the thing lets go.
