Patrons show a little too much skin at local tavern
September 8, 2010 at 7:00 pm in The Dickinson Press
A local watering hole received a $500 citation and a two-year monitoring period after a “wet T-shirt contest” and breast flashing ensued on July 24. Continue Reading

Why wasn’t ALPHA 6 Security mentioned? They were the “unidentified security team” that night… Why can’t we mention them? Wasn’t it their job to control the crowd? Lisa Call, you need to mention everyone involved here. ALPHA 6 was on the job! Great job fellas!

This kind of thing has been going on for years! And not just at the Evil Olive either. Unless this is a “newer” law and they are the first to violate it…I think this should be a good reminder to all the local watering holes in dickinson. If I want to see nudity I would go to a strip club.

OMG! Someone showed a nipple. May the heavens crash down around their heads and the lice of a thousand camels infest their nether regions. I always find it amusing how uptight we are as a society about nudity.

… Has the Esquire ever been fined?? Do you think all those bras hanging from the ceiling just magically appeared? I’ve seen plenty of boobs at the Esquire, and nobody seems to care. Sounds to me like the Olive is being unfairly targeted. Yes, there is a law in place, but it has to be enforced FAIRLY.
The first comment was right on; what about alpha 6?? They were hired to do a job, and they didn’t live up to it. Also, if the cops interviewed a security guard as a witness, why does the press report the security’s identity as “unclear?” The guards there that night admitted to doing NOTHING about what was going on. The city and/or the owners of the Evil Olive should be going after Alpha 6 for not properly doing their job. Any moron can check ID at the door, it’s up to the security guards on duty to make sure the patrons aren’t getting out of hand. That’s what they were hired for!!
On a side note, the ordinance quoted in the paper also includes “the cleavage between the buttocks” so any body who has their crack hanging out of their pants while sitting down can open up an establishment for a violation?? That sounds like every bar in town is in jeapordy!

Kristine – Alpha 6 probably didn’t react because they probably thought it was ok for nudity at the local bars, since it’s never been enforced before.

I know the owner of alpha 6, and lots of their employees. They do these types of events all the time (since they are the only security company in town), and they are well aware of the no nudity ordinance.

You’ve never seen anybody slack off at their job before? You’ve never seen men get excited to see some boobies?

This shouldn’t be a violation anyways. Sounds like a bunch of old people made up this ordinance. But beings it is, the security company should pay the fine. Or don’t pay the security company. They didn’t do their job.

Does anyone else think this has anything to do with them having optional liquor license (the last liquor license). If Ms. Ridl decides she can get one company to give up their liquor license then she could be the next one in line to get one.
There is no way this should have been blamed on the Evil Olive. If you’ve ever been out there during an event like this the owners/bartenders usually don’t have any idea wants going on anyways because they are busy bartending. Security should have been the ones to step. Isn’t that why people hire them?
I also agree that Alpha 6 should have been held responsible. They know exactly what they are getting themselves into. I believe the Alpha 6 guy was in the front row at the wet tshirt contest last time. He could have easily of stopped this.
What about the Dickinson Press doing a story on how many charities or benefits, the Sick Bastards Motorcycle club has either helped setup/takedown, sent guys to present checks, or just shown up to support the cause. It seems like the Dickinson Press wants to bring only bad publicity to a group that raises money for individuals or organizations. What if they would have a different club name? Would you still of ran this story?

I totally agree. I work with an ex-member of the club, and even though he had left on bad terms…he is angry with the media for not EVER publishing a charity event that was put on by the club, mainly because of their name. But ONE false move and their name is smeared all over the front page. Amazing how the media can put a twist on things.

Can anyone tell me why Alpha 6 was not mentioned in this article?
This event happened in a bar…. everyone is 21 and older… that would make them adults.
If something is taking place that “offends” you…….. LEAVE!
I’m pretty sure 99% of the people who attend these events expect to see stuff like boobs.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH it’s a Boobie…OMG!

Trampy girls? Ever heard about having a little fun?
Just because you may be too prude to enjoy that kind of fun doesn’t mean all of us are.

It seems to me that the police would cite the person(s) who exposed themselves instead of the owners of the establishment. I imagine this poorly worded and selectively enforced ordinance would not stand a challenge in court.

I wouldn’t call it a little fun. If one of these girls walking around exposing themselves were to get grabbed and groped, would they have a right to press charges? In this case, I’m guessing it would be just considered part of the fun. The way you act is a reflection of the type of person you are.
