Florida minister: Sept. 11 Quran burn still planned
September 8, 2010 at 4:50 am in West Central Tribune
GAINESVILLE, Fla. The leader of a small Florida church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy said Wednesday he was determined to go through with his plan to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11, despite pressure from the White House, religious leaders and others to call it off. Continue Reading

I firmly believe in freedom of speech, but this action will only cause violence abroad, if not here. This man must truly be touched, or has absolutely no respect for his fellow Americans or Christians.

He is a twisted soul. I will pray for him, that he finds peace. It won’t be pretty whenever he meets his Maker.

It should be noted this pastor was under investigation for embezzeling funds form the former church he was at. Now the church he looks after, has been viewed as a cult with the pastor having complete control over everyone in that so called parrish, sounds familiar? If this dummy wants to burn the Koran, then maybe he will pickup a weapon and help out in the middle east because he will put the soldiers in the middle east in danger, and would cause more attacks of terrorism fueling the terrorists into having another reason to attack us, or our interests aboard. Sorry there are other ways to acknowledge those who died in 911, and all this does is fuel more controversy and possibly more killings!

The feds already warned him that if he goes through with this, his life could be in extreme danger and possibly the lives of others in his so called church.

Would you still call it “freedom” if it were the Bible being publicly burned, Harold?

Yeah, maybe he should put the koran up on an altar at his church, then maybe the taliban will let him live!! Just being a non muslim is enough to earn him a death sentence to these wacko terrorists!!

All that matters is that this man is claiming to be a man of GOD and is clearly not practicing what he preaches (if this even is a real christian church)

Does freedom of speech have to include the freedom to antagonize?
This man is purposefully inciting hatred – isn’t that contraditory to being a “good Christian”? He does nto have to approve of, understand, or support the Muslim religion… but, does he have to make such a drastic point to be so blatent with his disapproval? I don’t think so – I think this is a stunt, purely for attention… the motivation behind this is all wrong.

“Does freedom of speech have to include the freedom to antagonize? ” was posed by Breezy Belle. Could that same question be asked of the iman trying to build the mosque? Just wondering.

How do the two compare? One situation is about building something (which, I believe, is not actually a mosque, but a community center [correct me if I'm wrong about that]… and is NOT on the ground zero site, but rather, NEAR it… and, who decides how near is too near?) and the other situation is about burning something up, leaving it in a pile of ash, for the sole purpose of antagonation.
But – without diving into the technicalities – yes, actually, I suppose that same question could be asked. So then – if the question is asked, in regard to each situation – let’s first determine; is the goal the same – are each of these men aiming to antagonize? I don’t know that the answer is the same in each scenario. One seems blatantly obvious – the other, not so much, really.

Burning the Quran may be stupid, but it’s similar to things the “Arab street†does on a regular basis — like trampling on or burning the American flag, burning Uncle Sam in effigy, or shouting “Death to America. Death to the Great Satan.â€
But ask yourself, how does burning a Quran compare to the filming of the beheading of Daniel Pearl and other Americans, Britons and anyone else that Al-Qaeda or the Taliban doesn’t like? What about the stoning of women or the hanging of homosexuals?
The stakes are high. Just last week, Iranian cleric Mesbah Yazdi said, “Democracy, freedom, and human rights have no place†in Islam. Call me a bigot, if you will, but we have to do whatever it takes to keep such a system off our shores. After all, what are we fighting for?

I wonder how many Qurans the Muslim 9/11 terrorists burned up when flew the airplanes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I would think there had to be some since they say Muslims were also killed in the attacks.
