I remember as a child KCMT was the only channel we got on the old black and white. And I also remember being asked to be on Welcome Inn as a young 4-Her who won the (dubious) title of Apron Queen at 8 years old ( the last time I EVER wore an apron. I do remember being so very nervous and yet being on air for only about 2 seconds. I also think that the news coverage that is televised in this area is amateurish compared to KCMT. they actually cared about stories in the area, and did a very good job of reporting. And also, Natalie Johnson was my secret idol for many, many years. I loved to see her in person. They really did a great job of local programming at KCMT, although I think the station was located at 8th and Hawthorne, not the location the article gives.
