Dr. Mandel did not want to study CN workers at the docks because he wanted to study workers with the highest risk. Well, how is he going to judge who has the highest risk if he does not include the storage facility workers? These guys get covered with taconite fine dusts every day, and breathe the stuff in spite of some of the precautions taken. Further, the dock workers may get exposed to other possible asbestos sources associated with some of the dock machinery. I do not know the chemistry or minerology, if you prefer, of the brake systems and airborne dusts on the ore trains, but there has been a long-term exposure to this potential hazard. Anyone living near the tracks and anyone working the trains has had this exposure – are they not worthy of study as well?
