As a veteran from combat support companies with the first brigade of the 9th division, and then with the 2D battallion of the 22D infantry mechanized almost 30 years ago. These men bring great credit apoun them selves, and the United States Army.

I find talking to recently returned veterans, especially from Iraq, very depressing. Makes you feel like you wasted a year of your life while they were making a difference.

God Bless these awesome Soldiers. We owe them an eternal debt of gratitude.

I’m glad to see this post thanking our soldiers instead of another “why were we there” diatribe. Our greatest thanks belongs to those who protect this country.

* NOTE * I am not attacking the soldiers on this comment I would just like more information.
The comments in this article sounded kind of vague, would somebody be so kind as to share what we accomplished exactly? Is it really safer? How do we know it is safer?
“it” being Iraq and or America.

These people, men and women of our military went where they were told to go and did a dangerous job. Regardless of what any of us think about the war, pro or con, our military is a credit to the country and as such they deserve our support.
