It’s the monster under the bed that nobody wants to think about, but be warned: The bedbug is back.

I work in a hotel in the FM area. Inspecting for bed bugs is a daily thing in a properly run hotel. Our housekeeping staff is trained on how to look for the critters and inspect every room they clean for the bugs. I read somewhere that this rise in bed bugs was first noticed in upscale hotels in NYC…so I hope everyone remembers that staying the night in a nice place doesn’t make you immune. No matter which hotel or motel you stay in, you should pull the sheets back from the mattress, check the stiching, and check along the headboard and bed frame. You’re also supposed to put your luggage in the tub…not on the luggage rack or the carpet.
All of this makes me not want to travel anywhere

Easiest and cheapest solution is to wrap your mattress in a plastic cover, tape it closed. U-Haul may sell them. Leather furniture is also preferable ( if you’re in the market to buy new furniture.)

Omg reminds me of the hotel I bought one night in New Mexico back in 96. The place was infested with flies. There had to have been a dead body in there. I did not stay, that was awfull. Just hit the interstate, I wasn’t tired after that.

I think the republicans brought these bugs upon themselves anto Fargo. It started while Bush was in office. God is punishing the reds fortheir sins! obama and nancy will just have to come in and fix this for us too. Alas a blog the moderators won’t sensor.

Our cold winters might prove to be our best weapon against bedbugs. Storing mattresses and other items in unheated garages or rented storage for the few days of continuous freezing required to kill them is an option. We may also find it possible to drain pipes and winterize a home to allow it to freeze deeply to get rid of infestations without poisons or having to throw away expensive items
There is a lot of information and mis-informatation on the web regarding bedbugs, but the best single source I have found is a U of Kentucky webpage at http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef636.asp.

I read this article late last night before going to bed. It made me start feeling itchy while reading it.. of course I ended up dreaming about being bitten and finding bed bugs LOL I was happy to wake up and realize that it was all a dream! I so dislike creepy crawlers of any type.
