MSNBC talk show screamer Ed Schultz had a meltdown in the network’s 30 Rock newsroom, shouting at staff, “I’m going to torch this (bleep)ing place,” according to a report from the New York Post. Continue Reading

i’m not a fan. he does think he’s at a different/higher level. anyone that has dealt with him in person should know what i’m talking about. good for him for getting where he is at but he’s forgotten where he came from and maybe the fact that we are all equal. doesn’t matter what job you hold or how much you make. those things don’t make you any better than the next person.

The Fargo Foolem will go to any length to get ED. It is just hear say so far. You can not believe every thing in print and TV, especially the Post, Fox and the Forum.
Ed has been the hardest worker I have ever seen in the TV and radio busisness. And yes, he made it big by his hard work. I believe the Forum is just jealous of Ed’s accomplishments. I do not believe that Ed has forgotten about us in Fargo, as he is always mentioning Fargo on his MSNBC show.
Can anyone of you say that you have not lost your temper at work at least once in your life? I think not.

I remember around 1978-80, when Ed got an invite to the Oakland Raiders NFL camp after his senior year at MSU. Ed would call into the morning radio show that he did with Jim Adelson (at that time) and talk about how he and Kenny Stabler did this and that together. “Best buds” is how Ed tried to milk this one. A couple of weeks after he had got cut- Sid Hartman happened to run into Stabler and asked about Schultz. Stabler looked at him quizzically and said “who???”

Regarding the HOT HEAD , (ED) he should not have been given a second chance , for him too be using those words on RADIO, come on give me a brake. He surely can be replaced, remembering him on the radio back in ND, if he didn’t like wath you were saying he just HUNG UP ON YOU, how dare you not think the WAY HE DOES.

We all know Ed’s got a temper, but The New York Post, being a NewsCorp-owned tabloid, is not a very reliable source when it comes to affairs at MSNBC (to be fair, I wouldn’t consider The Daily Kos to be an authoritative source on the inner workings at Fox News, either). They have far too much motivation to blow things out of proportion. I’m taking this with a grain of salt.

Yup, and Ed’s dog paid the altimate price for one of his temper rants. In retrospect, the dog was probably better off, without him. Nobody knows what that dog had to suffer at the hands of Mr. Ed.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 185 40
what’s the story on the dog? i guess i never heard….
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 40 24
Ed shot his dog in an alleged hunting accident near Cayuga, ND. Rumor has it that his dog wasn’t behaving appropriately and decided to “pepper the dog” but in the end a local vet had to put him down. That’s why its so hard to listen to Ed chastise Dick Cheney for his hunting accident.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 164 26
According to Ed’s hunting buddies way back then his dog got itself shot when it didn’t perform well enough retrieving for him. Ask anyone from the time period he went to school Ed was known throughout the town for using the same pick up line 100 times every night, “hi my name’s Ed Schultz, I’m the starting quarterback for MSU, so you going to blank me or what?” I’ve seen him personally screaming f u comments to a 6th grade boys football team that he felt were wimps and not doing what he told them well enough! Yes little kids. He somehow avoided prosecution when he ran an old couple off of I29 with his RV because he drives like to talks, loud and sloppy. He abused and cheated on his first and great wife Maurine. I assume he does the same with the current one. And just ask around about throwing bottles or driving on the sidewalk type topics. We could do this for hours. Oh yeah, he lived for trashing liberals for over two decades up until he found a job that would pay him to be a loudmouth liberal. Now he plays that role. What does this say about the people who listen to him and give him his radio ratings? Unbelievable the gene pool could be that shallow but someone obviously listens to him.

Nice to see all the Ed haters are still sad and bitter. Wow, God forbid someone has the balls to really make something of themselves in Fargo. Talk radio in this area has been so dull since Ed left, I quit listening. At least Ed kept things lively and interesting….

About 12 years ago I was bartending at Season’s at Rose Creek and Ole Eddy Spaghetti came in and was verbally abusing his wife at the bar. He is a lousy excuse for a man who is in serious need of a good anger management therapist.

It was only a matter of time. I have tried to watch his program several times, but can’t make it through the first segment. Ed: I really hope you keep it together because I kind of enjoy not having you around Fargo. You belong out east, please for the love of God, KEEP IT TOGETHER!!!!!! PLEASE, KEEP IT TOGETHER!!!!!! We don’t want you to come crying home.

I wasn’t defending him by any means. Nor was i saying anything bad. My comment was about the article subject only. But apparently Ed Schultz affects alot of lives still in this area. I’m not from Fargo. I just really don’t care what Ed does. I wonder tho, so half of the thumbs down to my (no stance on Ed Schultz) comment, do half the ppl think he is better than the rest of us, and half think he’s worse?!

That man will never change! He always will rant and rave and how about his beating up his ex-wife. How that man got into broadcasting I will never know. Real tough guy to smaller people, try picking on someone of equal size once Ed, of course you never will! He is just a big blow hard!!!!

Fortunately, Ed chose to leave this market and burned his bridges behind him. I have a story or two that would curl your hair if you weren’t completely disgusted about Ed’s personal behavior. Good riddance . . . . . .
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 60 10
I think Ed is showing his true colors. Once again, things don’t go his way and it is everyone else’s fault. MSNBC needs to have their heads examined for letting him stay on after that rant.

You can have all of these agenda driven “talk” folks: Schultz, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 66 37
As long as we’ve lived in Fargo – nearly 30 years – Ed has managed to make a name for himself. And a raving mad, rabid-dog-like fool of himself. He needs help, and maybe the suits at MSNBC will finally convince him to get it. Unfortunately, it appears that they like people with disorders hosting their shows.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 59 13
This is typical of Ed The Mouth. He’s always screaming at, and cutting off callers he doesn’t agree with. And to think he always wanted to be the showpiece of the liberal agenda.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 94 25
But that is what members of the hate Americal liberal left Democrat crowd does all the time. Anyone who doesn’t agree with them is an idiot or being bought off by someone else. This crowd doesn’t like that people want to succeed on their own and not be bought off by government programs. Ed is just like the rest of that pathetic bunch (Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Conrad, Dorgan, Pomeroy included)

He is no different than Hannity, Limbag, and Beck except he is outnumbered 3:1. And I don’t think Ed is deaf, going blind, or hooked on meds or fawning over Sarah Palin.

Ed Schultz lost his temper? GET out of TOWN!
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 114 8
Scooter/big red hiney:
Don’t ever put Ed in the same sentence as Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck. Ed has had some success, but he is no where near the $37M Limbaugh earns, $20M for Beck, and I’m sure Hannity is somewhere in the middle. His ratings are no where near either of them. If he get’s there, then I will pat him on the back. Until then compare him to the rest of the left wing libs on MSNBC and CNN where they are the bottom feeders just trying to get someone to tune in.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 94 43
jeff – Ed is standing up for what he believes in…. Hmmm… Isn’t that what we are supposed to do? Yet, somehow, you won’t even so much as you pat him on the back UNLESS he makes as much as Beck, Limbaugh or Hannity? Do you realize those guys prey on the vulnerable, the gulible, and the lazily misinformed? I guess with your brilliant logic, Bernie Madoff is a hero?
Poorly-rated. Like or Dislike: 22 45
OK, I will pat Ed on the back. No doubt about it he has been successful. If we want to talk logic, how is Bernie Madoff any different then our Government in relation to Social Security? There is no question that Social Security monies brought in by the fed’s goes right to the general treasury where for years has been spent foolishly from all politicians in Washington. This is what Ed supports and this is what conservatives are trying to bring to an end. The corruption, entitlements, stimulus, health care reform to name a few. It’s not a Bush/Obama topic, it’s all politicians who ignore the Constitution.
Hot debate. What do you think? 34 33
You are making a false comparison by using one’s earnings as a yardstick. A more appropriate and accurate camparison is one that compares those with a national presence. And though Schultz doesnt have the audience numbers of the blowhards on the right, he is a recognized blowhard on the left and the fact that this story has legs points to that. Interestingly, he fits in well with the talking heads on the right when you look at his “professional” qualifications in that nothing in his background prepared or trained him to do anything other than to espouse an opinion or set of talking points while in many cases ignoring facts. Why does anyone waste time listening to theses guys – right or left?
Poorly-rated. Like or Dislike: 4 19
Ed has been in need of anger management probably from birth. Thankfully on MSNBC viewers were subjected to his tirade, which means about 30 people saw it.

Ed has his faults but God isn’t taking away his sight like he is with Beck, his hearing like he is with Limbag, his brains like he is with Palin, and his morality like he did with Doc Schleshinger when she did all the nude photos (and I mean gaping nude). They are apparently being punished for their beliefs, rants, and crimes against humanity. That is what the right says whenever anything bad happens, that God is punishing people for their actions so it must be true. I’m guessing Ed’s dog must have done something pretty bad.

I’m guessing there will be an earthquake or a hit by a meteor or Sara Palin will get lockjaw.

Ed Schultz ruled the roost at KFGO all those years and no one lifted a finger when he had one of his rants.
Now, he’s got bosses that don’t back down to no one. Not even to the “Big Redhead.”
The NBC execs absolutely did the right thing in this situation. If Eddie shoots his mouth off again, he’s fired. If that happens, you know he’s going to come crawling back to the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Personally, I think the world would be a much better place if all the talking heads and reality TV shows just went ‘poof’.
I really don’t see that any of them have any redeeming value or add anything positive to society in general. Most of them are just really good examples of bad examples.

I too have first hand knowledge of Ed’s abusive ways. He’s stepped on many to get where he is today. I’ve always been amazed that not one of his past employers did anything about it. Instead they rewarded him, whether it was a better job, a motor home, free reign over whatever he does at the expense of other people and of course more money. I think Ed’s true colors just came out at MSNBC — he has always like to be in control of everything and everyone around him and doesn’t care how he treats anyone. Anyone who has experienced Ed’s rampages first hand knows what I’m talking about. Hopefully he has met his match in the Execs. at MSNBC. Ed being Ed, has chosen to turn his back on those from this area that have helped him get where he is today, as I see it there is 1 person in Ed’s world — ED.
