so you saying that people that are Islamic don’t deserve to be helped. When i read the article i didn’t see anything stating there religous views. I’m sad that these people, whatever religous views they have, are already subjeted to hate just becasue they are from somewhere else. These people could have come from a war torn country where there family and friends were murdered and they don’t have a home to go to, Then they come here and get the 3rd degree because they are different. Shame on anyone who thinks like this.

Let the Muslims around the world help the other Muslims. I for one am not in any hurry to keep flooding our nation with refugees from areas that want to kill us. Some of you people are way to naive. What will it take to make you understand what is happening here? Instead of commenting all the time with your uneducated opinions how about you read the news for a change? Let me know how the Somolian refugees are acting in Minnesota. These very same people who are being brought here by the local churches are the same one being rounded up for criminal activity. Can we take care of our own people for a while? Why do i need to house, feed and support a non-english speaking refugee when we have people in our own country that need help? I guess giving handouts to Abdullah gets you more press than helping Steve down the street. Just wait and see what the demographics of this area will be in 10 years.

I didn’t see a notice on my door demanding that i help them either, If you don’t want to don’t. Well if you don’t actually help you’ll cry about them taking your tax dollars. I guess there is no way to fix it. Help those you only want to and let everyone else die.

Unfortunately the sheep wont wake up until something bad happens. Then of course they will just blame the citizens for not taking better care of the refugees. Cant hold Muslims accountable for their actions. Freedom of religion and all.

Baloney. These refugees have left their homes, families, and everything they know for a chance at a new life. Why would they want to turn their new community into what they just escaped from? Do they want to get shafted again? I believe this program is the best plan for a calm integration of the new faces into our community. For decades, we’ve had a “you’re here so we’ll tolerate you, but we don’t like it” attitude. By welcoming these refugees into our communities, by providing a friendly face to help with integration, hopefully they’ll be productive members of our community, and more likely to take ownership in our community, rather than feel they’ve been relegated to servitude by a community that does not want them.
On a side note… if you want to learn the “truth” about anything (religion, taxation, any social problem), never, ever, EVER, visit a blog or website. For an area that prides itself on how independent we are, some of us are brainwashed far too easily by the wild theories and unsubstantiated claims found on hate sites.

I really do believe that you want the American dream for ALL refugees, as long as they arn’t Islamic, this is completely sad. It’s the crap that people throw at these people for being different that makes me wonder why everyone hates Americans.

Never had a problem with anyones religion until they started declaring Jihad on our people and our country.
If the “Good” Muslims want to live without being lumped into the same sack as the “Terrorists” all they had to do was stand up and condemn the actions of the extremists. However, that wasnt the case. They have sat idly by all quiet during this whole thing and now they wonder why no one trusts them. Sorry but i wont be joining in on your little group who trusts all. I will continue to suspect the worst from the entire religion until they do something to prove themselves as anything other than terrorists. I do know that all are not, i will not however assume that anyone isnt unless i am sure. I didnt start this, their silence was a vote of inclusion in my book.

Please do tell GF Herald why you continue to have this hate allowed on the comment section? The article never mentioned religion, yet those commenting have hardly stayed “on topic”. Even if their comments were on topic, their comments on Islam have gone far beyond thoughtful, respectful critique and are now nothing more than “personal attacks” on immigrants in need of aid.

Some of the refugees are Islamic, and while I welcome them, I sincerely do worry about sharia law culture being imported into this country. Its nothing to take lightly pintsized. All people are equal. But not all cultures. And to think so is dangerous.
Do your research pintsized. Read the “An Abridged Koran” its got a red cover. Read the hadiths, the sadith, the teachings of Muhammed. Then tell me what you think of the Islamic culture. Its not prejudice to be critical of an ideology. No, its smart.

I’m really happy that these people no matter where they are from and what stance they have on any views are comming to our community. i look forward to seeing them out and about, i also wonder what i can learn about where they are from and what the culture from there homeland can add to our already diverce culture here in Grand Forks and the Red River Vally.

All religions are mind viruses that we should innoculate our youth from with critical thinking and freethinking. It just so happens at this time in history, that its Islam that is the biggest mind virus politically religious threat. 500 years ago, it would have been the inquisition that we’d all be trembling from. Now, its Islam. Separate the people from the religion, then they’re just people. Give them the religion from the time they’re babies, brainwash them into believing everyone who doesn’t believe the way we do is going to hell, and you are capable of doing anything in the name of your religion.
