Jim Souhan column: Give us a break, Brett

Brett Favre’s teammates and Vikings management seem content with his insistence on extending his summer vacation, but Favre is being illogical, irresponsible and lazy.

I think that Jim Souhan is the biggest journalistic prostitute I have ever read who wants to go both ways on any topic. One day he rails against Favre, the next he indicates that whatever Favre does is OK with him because, well let’s face it, without him the Vikes are a pedestrian team. So all Jim Souhan wants are the words to fill his column and take home his paycheck. You want Brett then accept the whole package and relish the times you get to watch him play. Choose one position on the topic and stick with it. One more thing. Unless you’ve actually visited Brett’s home area of MS, you shouldn’t comment about it. The area around Hattiesburg is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, there’s plenty to do and the people are some of the best on the planet. I’ve been there, I’ve lived in MS and cheap shots aimed at that state are far too easy and exactly what that state doesn’t need especially here in the Northland where opinions without real knowledge run rampant. Jim Souhan should be ashamed of himself.

I think that we have seen enough of Brett Favre. We have seen what type of man he really is….and it ain’t purty. He thinks cuz he is Brett Favre that he can do whatever he wants. Frankly I am Farved out. He used to be my hero, I loved watching him play. New York???? Give me a break! Vikings? Even a bigger break. The Packers and the Vikings are bitter rivals…….why would he go to his rival team?? I say enough is enough.

I just wish they’d leave Favre alone. You don’t see him calling press conferences or putting up articles in the paper… it’s the MEDIA driving this, not #4.
