   once again we must listen to this political drivvle. the politicians and their gimmick accounting have gotten the schools in trouble. If I used that kind of accounting in my business, I would go to jail. The driving factors behind the school budget crisis are out of control administrative salaries, and facilities expenses. The information is supposed to be public, but difficult to access: as far as I can tell there are school system administrators making more than the governor. Not acceptable. Many districts have old, inefficient buildings, many rural districts have long bus routes, political correctedness and bleeding heart liberalism are rampant. It all breaks down to the battle between pro-active and re-active thinking people. Both ideologies have their goods and bads. another issue is CHANGE. The desire for improvement has brought about CHANGE. And often when no change was needed. I got a high quality education in a very small town, from high quality teachers. A low quality teacher was not tolerated, they went down the road. We had a group pride that has carried me on through into adult life and fueled my successes in my business ownership and professional career. Back to basics is the answer, simplify, control out of control administration costs and modernize facilities. Eliminate and never consider gimmick accounting, putting off payments and expenses into the future is not proper, legal, or ethical.
