Leave it to a GOP to pick on the lower income level of our society. Oh wait, they don’t have a lobby that contributes huge dollars so they’re lets stick it to them. If anyone deserves to not have to pay taxes it’s our veterans, why not push for that as incentive to volunteer? This is just diversion politics.

I would just as soon have the first $20000 of my income exempted also. Who does this guy think is going to pay for government? Oh that’s right, we’ll just cut our way out of our obligations.

I would like my first $20,000 exempt also, as I’m on disability. But, as pointed out, all the programs need funding and always cutting/unallottting just shifts the tax burden to other levels of government. How about a Flat Rate Tax?
