DULUTH When I was a skinny kid in Worthington, from a family without much money and searching for a future, education gave me a chance. It gave me a chance to go to college, build a career prosecuting white-collar criminals, and begin a lifetime in public service. Continue Reading

Matt, how are you going to pay for all this? the sad thing is you are out of touch with the average minnesota resident. Tell us the truth about all those “minnesotans” who were about to lose their health care. Many, many of those were hardly minnesotans, we are so liberal about who we call a resident, that if you have had the good sense to drive through the state sometime in the past, then you are a minnesotan. We are giving many people the benefits of being a minnesotan when they are not really from minnesota. you talk about schools, then tell us the truth. the real truth is, almost all of us are fed up with the out of control wages to the administration. there are school system administrators making as much or more than the governor. you have a rural heritage, show it. your goals are lofty, but I want to know how you are going to pay for it?

I would also like to see “how to pay” for education costs. He did give a bit of an idea by mentoring mentioned in the article as being less costly and more effective. Administration costs are something that does need to be looked at hard. Teachers wages have remained relatively flat over the last 10 years, so other costs are the reason for the rise in education cost.
