we have money for huge indoor community center , golf courses, baseball parks and Badlands Community Centers. But, we have no money for a skate park…we even have a skate store but no park…The city needs to stop right now and think about what an outdoor swimming pool means to our community. We do not need some monstrosity of a pool. We can add those things later on. Right now we just need a working no-water-leaking-legal OUTDOOR POOL.
If you complain about your taxes go up you can blame that on the city for it because they are using the appraised value of your home as a basis for increases in taxes. It is up to the city to suck it up…raise the mill levy on parks and rec and build a pool..
Heck, we could even bring back the duck race as a fundraiser…all the money raised for a POOL went into the Community Center (at least that is how I understand it.) Those events were quite successful, There must be grant programs for such facilities or heck…we could just raise the sales tax like we do for everything else.
All I know is a HUGE thank you is in order to Stepheny Reger for facing the Parks and Rec board and bringing it to the table…Stepheny, if you want help you can just let me know through the board and I will give y ou a way to contact me.
Quote “I think this is kind of what we’ve been waiting for, actually,†said Commissioner Scott Kovash said. “This is the first step to get going. ..why? Each and every park board member knows that this city wants an outdoor pool. What are they waiting for? Winter? So it makes it a non issue again…heck we could have a winter duck race in the walking pool at the Center.
This is the city”s baby…it is really not up to a group or any single person, Heck…get a petition…if they refuse to act…recall each and every one of them and fire the director and start from scratch,

First of all, I do not think any of my comments are
either ignorant or terrible. I say this because I received an anonymous letter in the mail today attacking me for what I said about the pool. It also says my comments on Soc Sec were pretty terrible as well.
Please, tell me what is wrong with lifting the cap? It will assist with our Social Security woes.
Yes, we use pet names on these boards. I am being accused of doing no research or fact checking (not true) when posting.
So, then I get an anonymous letter from someone who is too much of a coward to sign their name.
This person will now spread the word that they will share my “rants” with voters.
How does one respond to this? If they would have signed their name I would call them and have an adult conversation…guess I can’t because the writer has no guts. Instead, I will post these comments on the board. It is the only thing that can do to defend myself.
