Yes, give them a raise. When comparing their compensation to surrounding communities it would not be out of line for the members to want an increase.

Why didn’t they bring up the fact that they wanted a raise when they were running for election? Why – because people would have voted them out or not elected them. They are asking the public to make a sacrifice for the kids by increasing our taxes, why doesn’t the board set an example and make that sacrifice first by not taking a raise, why don’t the teachers make the sacrifice for the kids by forgoing their annual raise. I am so sick of the people I mentioned saying its for the kids, but then they don’t make the sacrifice for the kids. I say we go to the meeting tomorrow and make it known how we really feel.
