Like it or not, the 21st century comes to the wilderness, too. The tower serves the local community outside the wilderness. These people deserve the same amenities of this century as the protesting residents of the greater metropolitan area of this state. The tower won’t even be visible to an observer in the forest, a few short miles from the tower site. Just how virginal is our wilderness, with its well-beaten trails and developed campsites?
