They knocked her down ON PURPOSE and grabbed her! A strange man purposely knocks down and grabs a 9 yr old and they say its not Attempted Kidnapping! There are ppl out there that have been locked up for less then that! What should have they done, actually got her in the vehicle first, in order for them to call it Attempted Kidnapping? The only way things will be investigated is if she has bruises on her, she is to then be taken into the cop shop for pics, and then, and only then, will they look into it. You want to talk about a total nightmare for any parent.

So this is basically what I’m getting here, what once was considered an attempted kidnapping is now considered just an encounter, so does that mean an actual kidnapping in now looked at as an attempted kidnapping, and what they once reported as being a murder is now looked at as a kidnapping? How can they blow off such a serious thing and tell people there was no report of an attempted kidnapping when the report was taken right there in the cop shop! What does this town consider to be an Attempted Kidnapping? Please enlighten me because it pretty obvious that grabing a child that you don’t know with the intent of removing her from the spot she was forcefully knocked down at, is not justifiable to this town as an Attempted Kidnapping.

Maybe they didn’t have the information that you seem to have. Call them and if then call the press and give them the info so they can get the answers.

Melissa–it sounds like you do have the inside scoop. I think it is horrendous that no one has helped you. I have heard of this ridiculous ‘unfounded’ excuse before in other depts. I think it’s a detour they pull off the shelves when they don’t know what they are doing, or in the other cases I know about were just too lazy or crooked to do anything about it. Maybe they’re protecting someone they know. One time I read that (they had determined) that 80% of one kind of complaint(s) were unfounded. That is ridiculous, as no one is going to tell me that if 100 people complain about something, 80 of those people in 80 separate/unrelated incidents are lying. Maybe they’ll catch this weirdo if he tries to abduct one of their children.
