Why OH Why does Fargo and West Fargo build their streets so low. All they do is get drifted shut with snow and they flood everytime it rains. One would think that future roads would be built higher; however, this has not been the case in the past.19th Ave. N, 13th Ave S, 32nd Ave, 2nd St.S. Just to name a few. When will they learn? Or do they just like to make driving difficult for all the metro drivers?

Because it’s better for the streets to flood than homes and businesses. They are working as designed. The millions in improvments Fargo made in their storm drainage over the past 10 years have made a big difference. It will never be perfect because of our topography, and obviously West Fargo still needs some work. .

I’m always amazed at how many people risk serious damage to their cars by driving through water over the wheel hubs. Some people were even driving on sidewalks yesterday. Very stupid.
Some parts of WF got 4 inches of water in a very short period of time — whereas parts of Fargo were sunny and dry during that same time period. How often does something like that happen? Systems were working as they were supposed to . Fargo would’ve been in the same “boat” had they gotten the same amounts of rainfall.
What I found horrifying is the number of people allowing their children to play/swim in that nasty water, especially with cars driving around in it.
