Big events are rolling and winging into Alexandria.

On Monday, July 26th, about 1000 cyclists will be leaving the fairgrounds on their way to Little Falls. Anyone wanting to show support for the cyclists can line up at the fairgrounds with cowbells, horns, or just cheers and clapping hands to give them a big send-off. Also, stop by Friday morning (July 30th) between about 10 am and 1 pm as they return after about 300 miles and cheer them on again! Also, please be extra careful driving on these days and share the road.

Is that coffee trailer that I saw parked on the south side of Nakomis/Hwy 29 North able to be moved? I would think a few hundred cyclists would love some good coffee at the fairgrounds on the morning of July 26th. Some are up by 5:00 a.m., and get their tent packed up and on the trucks and on the road before 6 a.m.
Also, the first rest stop will probably be in or near Osakis. The problem is, many won’t have $ there … and the food, Gatorade, etc… are free.

If anyone wants to donate to this great cause, they can go to the MS-TRAM web site and find a participant or team to support. This is a wonderful cause and your tax-deductible donation will help a lot of people.
