I would encourage everyone to vote. So many people have given so much and in some cases have given all so we can vote. To not vote when it is possible to vote should be considered un-American.

Make sure you know who or what you are voting for and why. If you don’t, stay home.

It a party primary, Justin. You can vote for anyone you want to in November. Good luck.

Justin, the primary election is always a party primary. You must vote a straight ticket in the primary election. Then in November, you can vote for anyone you want to. This is the case in all 50 states.
North Dakota is unique in that we’re the only state that does not require voter registration. In any other state, when you fill out the voter registration form, you are asked to give your preference of political party. Most states offer the choice of “no preference.” Most people do state a choice and in many states, that binds a voter to their choice of party in the primary election.
Therefore, no one is telling you for which candidate you must vote. However, in a primary election, in reality you are voting for your political party preference.
