Well the Judge may have seen something in this college student worth saving and good. I only wonder how a guy working at any local job and not in school would do in court. I only hope the justice system works the same for a person not in school. Who wants to pay for their incarseration anyway as long as they do not offend again, if they do they have a lengthy stint in the slammer. Good, one less person the tax payer has to fund in jail, make them earn their own living and not by stealing anymore.

These guys are not too smart – thinking that a crime like this will remain a secret (and that they won’t get busted) when there are a dozen people involved is pretty stupid.

Wow, no jail time, and conviction lowered to a misdemeanor after 18 months. I guess crime does pay.

If this guy offends again within18 months, he gets the year in jail plus and additional sentence for his new crime. We don’t need to pay for all of these guys to be incarcerated, its a burden to society and lesson learned the hard way. They will alway’s have a black eye on their record so they are not getting away with anything. There probably will be some time for a few of the guys that recruited this mess, you don’t get away with anything on that.

According to the article, he will not have the black eye on his record; it will be just a misdemeanor. The point is not the cost of his incarceration. But, if justice is justified according to cost, then we should let all criminals and murderers go free, because it’s possible they’re not going to break the law again.
