Road construction to heat up soon

Road construction in Fargo and on Interstate 29 north of the city ratchets up another notch next week.
Two major projects, the 10th Street underpass reconstruction at Main Avenue and the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 between Argusville, N.D., and County Road 20, get under way Monday, a North Dakota Department of Transportation official said. Continue reading…

Why don’t they continue the third lane past I-29 and connect it to the third lane of I-94 where it comes off the overpass? It would only be about 100 yards of concrete and then you’d have 3 lanes from 45th to Moorhead. For that matter, they should have 3 lanes on I-94 from the new 9th street/Veterans Boulevard exchange. I don’t understand why they can’t think ahead on these projects, have it tore up once and get it done instead of prolonging it out for 4 or 5 years. Also, when is Main avenue going to get finished? That is one of the worst stretches of road in the FM area, not counting 9th Ave south between 45th street and I-29, that has got to be the worst stretch of roadway in the FM area.

Don’t forget about the mess on south 45th either. I went through there at 1:30 am and there was no traffic and it was still confusing.
